Indy Design Week (Community Platform & Event Experience)
Evolved the Indy Design Week website from 2025 to 2026, improving event storytelling, sponsor visibility, and platform flexibility.
Indy Design Week is a citywide festival and nonprofit that celebrates, connects, and amplifies Indianapolis’ creative community through events, workshops, and conversations that showcase the impact of design across culture, business, and community growth.
As Director of Technology, I led web strategy and helped evolve the Indy Design Week digital experience from 2025 to 2026. My role focused on modernizing the website experience, improving flexibility, increasing sponsorship visibility, and creating a more future-ready platform that could better support events and community storytelling.
As Indy Design Week continued to grow, the existing 2024 website no longer reflected the scale, energy, and future direction of the organization. While the site successfully communicated core event information, the experience felt limited in its ability to support stronger community storytelling, sponsorship visibility, and long-term growth.
The platform also created challenges around content organization, event visibility, and maintaining a flexible structure that future teams could easily update and expand upon. As the organization evolved, there was a growing need for a more modern and adaptable digital experience that could better represent the creative community while supporting future events, partnerships, and organizational initiatives.
The redesign process focused on evolving Indy Design Week from a primarily informational event website into a more community-driven digital platform. Building on the 2024 experience, the 2025 and 2026 iterations introduced stronger visual storytelling, improved content hierarchy, modernized layouts, and a more flexible structure designed to support future growth.
As the platform evolved, the experience became more intentional around event visibility, sponsorship presentation, and community storytelling while maintaining the creative identity of Indy Design Week.
The progression from 2024 to 2026 reflects ongoing iteration, stakeholder collaboration, and a continued focus on creating a more modern and future-ready digital experience for the organization.
The approach focused on creating a more modern and adaptable digital experience while preserving the creative identity of Indy Design Week. I collaborated closely with board members and stakeholders to align on organizational goals, sponsorship visibility, event structure, and long-term platform needs.
The redesign prioritized clearer content hierarchy, improved storytelling, responsive layouts, and a more flexible structure that could evolve year over year as the organization grew. The experience was designed and implemented in Webflow to support easier content management, future updates across teams, and long-term sustainability.
The updated Indy Design Week platform created a stronger and more cohesive digital presence that better reflected the organization’s growth, creative identity, and long-term vision. The redesigned experience improved how events, sponsorships, and community initiatives were presented while creating a more flexible structure that could continue evolving year over year.
The platform also streamlined content management within Webflow, making it easier for teams to update event information, promote initiatives, and support future organizational growth without relying heavily on engineering support.
As Indy Design Week continues to expand its community presence and partnerships, the redesigned experience now serves as a stronger foundation for future events, storytelling, sponsorship outreach, and ongoing collaboration across Indianapolis’ creative community.
